Web Application Firewall

Web application firewalls (WAF) are firewalls which apply sets of rules to a web connection that specifically covers common attacks. The rules can be customized to better identify and block many attacks. Customization can be significant and will need to be maintained. Web application firewalls can be filters, appliances, or server plug-ins.
