Patch Management

A patch is a piece of software designed to fix or update a computer application. Patches are often necessary to fix security vulnerabilities and bugs while improving the reliability and performance of an application. Patches typically refer to small fixes. Large fixes which significantly change a program are typically referred to service packs or software updates.
